In yesterday’s post, I introduced you to the star print trend. Today, I want to show you some of my favorite pieces so that you can make a stellar addition to your wardrobe, too!
Star prints have been everywhere from runway to ready-to-wear, and my eighth-grade self could not be happier.
Hedi Slimane sent this stellar bomber jacket down the runway at Saint Laurent’s Ready to Wear Fall 2016 show, and star printed boots, blouses, dresses, t-shirts, and cardigans are currently available on YSL.com.
Elie Saab’s Spring 2017 show included a plethora of star-printed looks, including this one, that I’m just a weeeee little bit obsessed with:
If you want to sport this trend, I’ve rounded up a few slightly more affordable options for you here! There’s something for everyone, from classic to quirky, so read on.
This Stargazer pullover has the dreamiest print. The best part? The embellishments are beading, so the stars and planets have texture and shine.
I love this sleeveless top because you can wear it now layered under a sweater or sweatshirt, and you can wear it later, as-is. The possibilities are as infinite as, well, the stars. 😉
If you’re a bit more on the traditional side, you can wear the star-print trend with a tried and true chambray shirt. This one is on sale and under $35!
The peplum detailing on this top is super feminine, and the relaxed, pullover style would absolutely make this top a closet all-star (Sorry…the puns are plentiful in this post.).
Guys, this skirt. The stars are embroidered with shimmery thread on the mesh overlay, and the moon phases are a watercolor print underneath with dreamy pastels. It’s worth a click just to look at the close-ups.
Guess what these stars are made of? Sequins. SEQUINS! Ugh. Too pretty. If you don’t have a NYE dress yet (and you’re didn’t make a pact with your husband to spend six hours on the couch like someone around here…), this one would be PERFECT.
Shoes and Accessories
These sandals would look gorgeous with an LBD, a pair of jeans, or a flowy maxi dress. And they’re currently on sale and under $35!
If you’re not ready to give up 70s disco glam, or if you’re ready to bring it back, grab these booties! They’re on sale here for under $100, but they’re out of your size on sale, you can check out this site instead.
Layer these tights under basic black, or if you’re a total style star, pair them with another stellar print!
I love this wallet with just about anything: jeans and a tee, an LBD, a colorful outfit for a night out…the white and shimmery gold acts as a neutral, so this wallet would look great with whatever you pair it with!
Ok, so I’m cheating a bit with this scarf. It’s not exactly a *star* print, as much as a constellation print, but it was way too pretty to leave out. Plus, it’s so light and airy that it will easily take you into spring. The best part? It’s under $40.
Last, but certainly not least, are these gorgeous earrings. They’re so dainty, and I LURVE the front-back structure. I have several front-back pairs and they’re just so cool to wear. If you’re not a front-back fan but love the stars and turquoise, then check these ones out instead! Both pairs are on sale for under $30!
Would you wear this trend? Do you have any wardrobe stars? 😉
