Over the holiday weekend, my mom and I spent a day at the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History in Pittsburgh.
I wanted to check out the Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion exhibit, and my mom wanted to revisit one of her favorites, the Hall of Geology (we share an affinity for all that sparkles). It was one of those early spring days that can be a bit tricky weather-wise (Sun’s out? 70 degrees! 20 minutes later? Breezy, shady, and a cool 57!), and I knew we’d be doing a good bit of walking.
Sooo…bring on the layers and feminine sneakers!
I opted for a short-sleeved striped t-shirt dress (this one is quite similar and is only $13!), my go-to denim jacket (under $40!), and the cutest, comfiest Michael Kors sneakers (under $100). For my accessories, I focused on a pink paisley bandana (on sale!), pink sunglasses, simple silver knot earrings, and a silver MantraBand that was a gift from a dear friend (love this one, too!). And how cute is this kitty purse? I won it at an event benefitting WearWoof (check them out if you haven’t!), but this one is pretty similar, and I own it in silver. For an extra pop of pink, I used this Nyx lipstick in Taffy and this Nyx gloss in Vanilla Cream Pie.
T-shirt dresses and bandanas are going to be a staple in my spring and summer wardrobe. J.Crew is having an awesome sale right now, and they have a great selection of bandanas at really reasonable prices.
Be on the lookout for more exciting Mother/Daughter news! This post kicks off a month of mother-daughter shenanigans with my mama 😉
Have an awesome day, and stay cool!
