Hi there, guys! It’s been a hot minute since my last post. I’d like to say I’ve been spending my summer thus far relaxing, but that couldn’t be further from the truth! I’ve been busy working on starting a closet over on Poshmark, teaching a Harry Potter class at a kids camp, starting a Youtube channel, and planning upcoming collaborations for my IG, blog, and Youtube.
I’ve also been doing a little shopping for our upcoming honeymoon! Chris and I got married last year, but because he ran for office, we didn’t take a honeymoon right away. Now, just after celebrating our first anniversary, we’re heading to Antigua in two weeks, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Because we’re finally taking our honeymoon, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a bit and opt for a few sexier styles. I decided to test-drive one of those styles for our anniversary dinner at the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg, PA. That quaint little restaurant in a quaint little town along the Allegheny River is where we got married, so it holds a very special place in our hearts.
Since I’m pretty curvy, I generally dress relatively conservatively (albeit quirky) so that I’m not “flaunting” anything. But let me tell you, it was sort of fun to flaunt! One of the best ways to flaunt curves is….
….with a bodysuit!
I decided to finallllly take the plunge on this trend that’s been around for a couple of years. WHAT THE HECK WAS I WAITING FOR?! Bodysuits are so comfortable, and they’re flattering AF. I grabbed mine from Forever21, which is one of my favorite go-to stores to shop when I want to try out a trend but not spend a ton of cash.
This bodysuit (which also comes in blush and black!) gave me enough coverage that I felt comfortable, but the lace-up v-neck has just the right amount of va-va-voom. The best part is the price – it’s only $15.90! I paired the bodysuit with a patched denim button-down skirt from last season. This one is super cute and has a similar vibe, but it’s a bit pricey. This skirt is less expensive ($14!), but it lacks the patchwork detail. These sunnies add a bit of fun to the outfit, and neutral accessories like this bag, these bracelets, and these shoes help to ground the main pieces.
Would you ever rock a bodysuit? I’ve seen them on all different shapes and sizes of people, and they seem to work for everyone!
